MIKE PUNCEKAR ILLUSTRATIONS

I found out about this Artist Mike Puncekar’s blog/art through Geekosystem and loved it. I don’t think he has a tumblr and I want to promote/show his work so I am making this separate blog dedicated to his art. So I am not Mike Puncekar just promoting/showing off his artwork. You can find his art and follow him at:

Mikes Latest Work:

Geek-Art.net invited me to take part in the Final Round show it’s hosting at Made in Asia Convention being held in Bruxelles, Belgium this weekend…..This will be available as a limited run 16”x24” print on the geek-art store complete with a signed certificate of authenticity to make it official.  I’m so excited about this one, and it’s been difficult just sitting on it waiting to post it. It’s a huge print and there’s a lot of subtle touches that just get lost here. And I mean, c’mon, it’s Zelda. There is all sorts of stuff going on over at Geek-Art.net and more about the show so check it out. If you think there’s a staggering amount of exclamation marks going down here, you should see it over there. It’s a punctuation screaming match. http://www.geek-art.net/geek-art-made-in-asia-convention-bruxelles/ English translation in the second paragraph

Mike Punecekar Illustrations Zombocalypse Intro Art
"…asked to make some menu and intro art by Ironzilla Media for this very awesome flash game. It went up on Armor Games this morning and I can’t imagine it disappointing anyone who plays it. I was given pretty free reign by the creator to put my spin on the characters. Really was awesome, and it’s nice that it’s free and I can share it you all. So you should play it… go on… play…”

"So, a few friends came over to watch the last two episodes of dexter so while we were watching I painted this up after I was prompted by Patrick Butler. So he proposed that we both do something really Star-Wars-ish, and since he wanted to do a Sith, I went ahead and painted up this Jedi on my laptop. This one was incredibly fun. It changed quite a bit as I went along adding and taking away a lot. It was just a really organic painting. Hope you enjoy. Things I managed to cram in because I like them, big hoods, snow, and a graphic planet/moon. Which in retrospect I should have had more of back there. Feels like every Star Wars planet is rocking two suns or something.”-Mike Puncekar

Kickass Illustration of the Czar Dragon from Super Mario RPG.
“The Czar Dragon may not be the most familiar of Mario characters as he was only featured in Mario RPG on the SNES. The story to this one is, it started out as Blargg, but as he turned more dragon-like it no longer fit, and I’ll have to come back to Blargg some other time. So I took the Czar Dragon notion and ran with it.”-Mike P.

“A small break from mario today, but not from nintendo characters. I’m actually more of a Zelda fan myself. I put together this Link a bit ago in the vein of the mario redesigns.”-M.Puncekar
